Kulisha: A Textured Brush Font That Elevates Campaign Visuals

Choosing the Right Font for a Product Launch Campaign

While designing a teaser graphic for a new product launch, I needed a font that would stand out without overpowering the visual message. The campaign had a bold, creative edge, and I wanted typography that reflected that energy. That’s when I came across Kulisha—a textured brush display font with paint scratches that immediately caught my eye. It wasn’t just another decorative font; it carried a certain mood, a rawness that felt authentic and attention-grabbing.

At first glance, Kulisha struck me as a premium display font ideal for short, high-impact headlines. Its textured brush strokes and paint splatter elements give it a dynamic, almost editorial quality. It’s the kind of font you’d expect to see in a film poster or a high-energy commercial, but I wanted to test how it performed in real-world digital marketing contexts.

Testing Kulisha in Digital Content and Social Media Graphics

For the product teaser, I used Kulisha in a YouTube thumbnail concept and a matching Instagram post. The goal was to create visual consistency across platforms while ensuring the text remained legible on both desktop and mobile. I found that Kulisha worked best at medium to large sizes—perfect for titles, callouts, and logo-style treatments.

On a white background, the paint scratches gave the text a subtle edginess. On darker backgrounds, especially in Instagram Stories, the texture added depth without compromising contrast. I did notice that in very small sizes—like on mobile previews or dense email headers—the fine details got lost, so I reserved Kulisha for headlines and hero text rather than body copy or subheadings.

For a seasonal sale announcement, I layered Kulisha over a subtle gradient background. The font’s textured strokes made it feel like part of the image rather than an overlay. It gave the design a tactile, handcrafted appeal that resonated well with the audience’s desire for authenticity.

When Kulisha Shines—and When It Doesn’t

Kulisha is not a workhorse font. It doesn’t perform well in long-form copy or small UI elements. It’s designed for impact, not endurance. That said, it excels in situations where you want your typography to be part of the creative direction—like webinar banners, course launch graphics, Pinterest pins, or branded template packs.

I found it especially effective in a content series for a lifestyle brand, where each post needed a consistent yet expressive visual tone. Using Kulisha for the title text across multiple Instagram posts created a cohesive look that felt intentional and brand-aligned. However, I avoided using it in fast-scrolling feed content where readability is key and attention spans are short.

For formal brand messaging or corporate communication, Kulisha might feel out of place. Its personality is bold, expressive, and slightly rebellious—perfect for creative brands, influencers, or entertainment campaigns, but not ideal for legal disclaimers or finance-related visuals.

Font Pairing and Practical Design Tips

Pairing Kulisha with a clean sans serif font like Montserrat or Lato helped balance the overall design. I used Kulisha for the headline and a minimalist sans serif for the supporting text, which created a clear visual hierarchy and kept the message focused.

When working with textured fonts like Kulisha, it’s important to test contrast levels and spacing. I often adjusted the letter spacing slightly to prevent the brush strokes from blending together, especially on smaller screens. Kerning was also key—some characters needed a bit more breathing room to maintain clarity.

For campaign templates, I made sure to check the available styles, alternates, and ligatures included in the font package. Kulisha came with a few stylistic variations and multilingual support, which made it more versatile for international campaigns or branded template packs.

Commercial licensing is always a consideration, especially when designing for clients or digital products. Kulisha is a commercial font, so I could confidently use it in client deliverables, promotional graphics, and even merchandise mockups without worrying about usage restrictions.

Final Thoughts on Using Kulisha in Brand Campaigns

Overall, Kulisha is a standout display font that brings energy and texture to digital campaigns. It’s not just about aesthetics—it’s about how the font enhances the message and connects with the viewer. Used strategically, Kulisha can help your campaign visuals feel more dynamic and memorable without sacrificing brand consistency.

Whether you're designing a product launch graphic, a content series, or a YouTube thumbnail set, Kulisha is worth considering if your campaign needs a touch of creative boldness. Just remember to use it where it shines brightest: in short, impactful headlines and visual-driven brand assets.
